Patience

Its in my blood, the thoughts and such,
like milk on my skin, so soothing to the touch.
It's a sickness I know, the lengths I shall take,
skipping stones down at rivers break.
The calm of the water and smell of dirt,
too many have come, so many I've hurt.

It's there we are joined, it's here we are one,
cutting our losses and racing the sun.
For no one counts the thorns on new flowers,
weeping children drown in vengeful hours.

It's in my blood, to feel this way,
a toll for which I'll never pay.
I lurk and hide from those that see,
turning pages of deaths misery.
Stop I shall not, my drive stays true,
waiting with patience till I come for you.
